森の記憶

木材をテーマに展示を行った。 日本全国の杉の産地を16県に絞り、新木場の問屋で流通していた「建材」16本に、その杉材が育った森の音を戻す行為をインスタレーションとして表現。それぞれの木が育った森の記憶とした。

Memory of the Forest

An exhibition centered on wood. Sixteen cedar regions across Japan were selected, and sixteen construction timbers once distributed through a Shin-Kiba wholesaler were paired with the sounds of the forests where they grew. This installation returned each piece of wood to the memory of its forest.
