A video in which a rare Edo-period articulated sculpture—a snake by Muneyoshi Myōchin (Jizai Snake)—comes to life, as exhibited in Amazing Meiji Crafts at the University Art Museum, Tokyo University of the Arts. “Jizai okimono” feature fully articulated joints, allowing free and lifelike movement.
